Accepting Influence
Creator • Executive Producer • Creative Director
Rethinking the conversation around modern masculinity.
I created Accepting Influence to explore one of the most important questions facing our culture today:
What does it mean to be a good man?
Hosted by Dr. John Gottman, the series brings together researchers, authors, therapists, creators, and cultural voices to explore masculinity, fatherhood, emotional intelligence, relationships, and the cultural forces shaping men today.
The Challenge
Much of today's conversation around masculinity is dominated by extremes. Young men are often surrounded by conflicting messages, outdated expectations, and unhealthy role models.
I wanted to create something different.
A place where curiosity replaced conflict, where difficult conversations could happen with empathy, and where young men - including my own nephews - could see thoughtful examples of healthy masculinity.
At the same time, I saw an opportunity to introduce Dr. John Gottman to conversations beyond relationship science, expanding his voice into broader cultural discussions.
